A better question might be are the free opportunities any good, and do they have hidden costs?

OK, I know that’s two questions, but they kind of go together.

The answer to that is a little more complicated.  There are some opportunities that are good, some that are…not so good.  There are opportunities that have hidden costs, and some that don’t.

I know what you want to ask next.  Well, what are the free, good opportunities that don’t have hidden costs?

Well – here’s the thing.  If you want to be successful on the internet and earn a living with an affiliate program or a multi-level marketing program, you will have to spend some money.  For one thing, you will need a website, and that costs money whichever way you look at it.  You have to pay for hosting – but this is usually very cheap.

The best thing to do is set yourself a monthly budget.  Work out what spare money you have right now to spend on your business.  Whatever this amount is, you really can start a business and make it successful.  It’s just that the less money you spend, the more work you will need to put in.

If your budget is very low, you can start by using some free programs.  You will not get rich this way, but after a while – and as long as you work at it – you will start to earn small amounts of cash, and you can then use this to start a few paid programs, which will give you a better return.

Basically, the more work and/or money you put into something, the better the return you will get.  It’s a case of what you are willing or able to invest in terms of your time or your money.  The great thing about an internet business is that you can start with under $50 per month to spend, and an hour or two per week and gradually build it up. 

One good way of starting out is by joining Clickbank and finding products to sell on your site.  Another little program which really is completely free is Cashcrate.  It won’t make you rich, but you can make a bit of cash by doing surveys and when your downline complete surveys.  To be honest, I don’t like the surveys on offer – but I do make a bit of cash from this every month from my downline – so it can be a good way of creating a little bit of extra to put back into your business.

Some businesses require more of a hands on approach. Businesses that require you to personally contact your prospects and customers come to mind.
